| Item Description: |
First multicentre RCT results on this internationally important question. Field challenges - participant non-compliance - resulted in analysis and presentation of findings as case-mix adjusted cohort. Methodological learning has informed further RCT design. Current policy supports the model of care tested, now widely implemented. HS conceived and led study. |
