Item Description: Distributed beamforming is considered as a key technique to provide reliable transmissions effectively in the future wireless communication systems. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) has been considered as the performance criterion to design distributed beamforming. In this work, however, we proposed to use the minimum mean squared error (MMSE) criterion as it is well-suited to the distributed nature of relay networks and allowed distributed optimization. The proposed approach is novel and different from existing approaches based on the SNR criterion. Using the MMSE criterion, we derived a set of new approaches to design distributed beamforming over wireless relay networks. The impact factor of this journal is 1.677.
