Abstract: Water scarcity and sustainability are two significant issues that affect social-economical development in my emerging economies such as China as well as in the developed world. This paper summarises a joint research programme looking into the water consumption issues in arid North-Western China under future climate change impact. It proposed a completely novel entropy-based method along with AI technique to look into complex impact factors in order to support effective mitigation measures taken by the local government. I was the main PhD supervisor of this research where I developed the research framework and the main research line.
