Additionally many students perceive their mentors to be overburdened practitioners and are conscious of the time it takes to be orientated to a new environment. This article presents the introduction of placement learning packs to enhance the experience of new students on placement as well as to assist midwives in their role as mentors. The effectiveness of the resource was evaluated by means of a questionnaire.
