Abstract

Hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras associated with symmetric Cartan algebras arise in string or M-theories. They possess simple three-dimensional sub-algebras such that when their adjoint representation is decomposed with respect to it it appears together with a finite number of unitary irreps.
