<p>This paper proposed the first and accurate analytical model for the contention based channel access scheme specified in WiMAX. The work advances the understanding of system performance and the impact of channel access parameters. The work is anticipated to make a large impact on WiMAX performance evaluation, spectrum optimization and QoS support. The model is used and under implementation into Freescale WiMAX MAC module for protocol configuration and utilization optimization of wireless spectrum.</p> |
