Item Description: |
<p>This paper arises from the PhD work of Dr Williams' student Suchitra Edussuriya. In this paper a novel 3D finite volume unstructured mesh algorithm for viscoelastic flow using the Oldroyd-B model is described. The algorithm is validated by testing it on the planar contraction geometry - a benchmark test case for viscoelastic numerical models. The resulting algorithm has been extended to other viscoelastic flow models and has subsequently been embedded within a commercial multi-physics technology.
