Abstract: This paper proposed a novel emulated photovoltaic (PV) source which was constructed using unilluminated solar panels and an external current source. The proposed PV source emulator presents a very high bandwidth comparing to currently widely used electronics circuit based PV emulators. Detailed mathematic model of the proposed PV source was developed for the first time. The proposed emulated PV source as a replacement of actual PV source has been used in the laboratory teaching and research projects at Swansea University for three years. The research achievement was presented at SPEEDAM 2018 conference and used for an EPSRC funding application.
