Transformational entrepreneurship involves business ventures that have a profound change in how they influence and affect society (Farinha et al., 2017). In recent years, there has been more attention placed on transformational entrepreneurship due to the interest in social causes, philanthropy, environmental responsibility, global equality and disadvantaged communities. Whilst traditional views of entrepreneurship conceptualize it as innovation, risk taking and competitiveness, transformational forms of entrepreneurship consider its social effects as being more important. To best study transformational entrepreneurship it is useful to consider it as having an economic and societal dimension. |
