The academic challenge was developing an algorithm that can store geometric information on complex die designs and relate it with successful design decisions so that a &#x2019;valid design space&#x2019; is generated for new designs. The research initiated during the EPSRC project GR/R15610 with significant industrial collaboration from Hydro Aluminum Extrusion Ltd.
