Abstract: |
In response to an increase in referrals made from prisons to the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic surgery a review was undertaken that revealed gaps in prison healthcare staff members knowledge of appropriate referral procedures and wound management. This resulted in the establishment of an ongoing educational programme delivered by an outreach nurse which has improved working relationships and the delivery of specialist burn care to prisoners. |
