The material in this paper was presented at an invited lecture given at the 9th International Workshop on FE for Microwave Engineering in Bonn, Germany, 2008 and was supported by a Royal Academy of Engineering Travel Grant. It describes an efficient preconditioning technique for the indefinite linear system of equations that arises from the hp finite element discretisation of Maxwell’s equations for wave propagation problems. |
