Abstract: |
It is obviously important that we consider the role and identity of the Academic Library in Wales as the needs of our users, our faculty and our environment changes. What is the different between academic and public or national libraries and how do we best make a difference? What is the importance of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act across Wales and how will information and knowledge management feed into the development of a more equal, a more democratic and a more informed society? Dannie Abse characterised the difference between his lives as Poet and Doctor in the title of his collected poems: White Coat Purple Coat. How might thinking about the multiple identities, and roles, of the Academic Library help us in exploring the future? |
