Abstract: Join us as we explore the findings from two international research projects, which asked nearly 1000 teachers about the involvement of animals in their practices and the similarities and differences of involving animals in animal assisted therapy. We will touch on some key themes such as perceived benefits for the development of social skills, wellbeing, communication and curiosity for children in both a classroom and therapy setting. We will also consider some of the practical and ethical considerations teachers and psychologists need to make when their practices involve dogs.
