This study showed that not only t-butanol modified the surface tension but also it affected the solution viscosity which resulted in improved mass transfer coefficient, kL. t-butanol also reduced the bubble sizes and enhanced the gas holdup. Overall the volumetric mass-transfer coefficient, kLa was improved and useful models based on surface coverage were developed.
