Item Description: |
This work involved the use of varous techniques for the removal of nutrients from sludge. Ths paper is the first to use additional fermentation to release nutrient from the sludge. The work revealed that fermentation with lactic acid bacteria realised substantial amounts of phosphate over the use of mineral or lactic acid alone. This implies a novel bacterial mediates mechanism of phosphate release from the sludge which we think is enzymatically based. |
