Item Description: (IF 2010: 1.844 – citations: 6) This single-author paper was published in a special issue of the journal entitled ‘Recent Advances in Modeling and Simulation of Thermal Spray Processes’. The research is significant to the field of abradable, porous, and composite coatings - providing an adaptation and improvement to a highly-cited model for calculating residual stress, critical to the development of new abradable coatings. This research was undertaken in the DTI/TSB MACE (Materials for Arduous Cycle and Emissions) Project (TP/2/ET/6/I/10037), collaborating with Rolls-Royce, Sulzer Metco, Cranfield and Cambridge Universities, and directly led to further funding via EPSRC for a PhD.
