Item Description: |
This paper introduces a fundamentally new and practical method to tackle a long standing problem of excessive implementation complexity of the channel coding schemes that are used to protect transmitted information from the transmission errors. The proposed method can readily eliminate more than 90% of the implementation complexity whereas the overall performance is unaffected. Thus, the proposed method enables to use much more complex (i.e., much more powerful) channel codes without the concerns about the implementation complexity. The proposed method was inspired by the energy efficiency of communication systems investigated in MVCE/EPSRC funded project on Green Radio. This paper led to another conference paper published in Chinacom 2012 which earned the best paper award, and an invitation to the national Jordanian conference to give a keynote on Green Radio techniques.IF: 0.982 |
