The work provided critical parameters with regards to the safely and environmental concerns in aerospace structures and involved using state-of-the-art techniques such as synchrotron X ray microtomography and 3D EBSD. This work led to further consultancy work for Rolls Royce, VSMPO Tirus and Wyman Gordon European Operation.
