Item Description: This paper illustrates how engineering derived principles can be used to examine high-throughput imaged data and permit both biological quantification and insight into mechanisms that regulate the onset and potential treatment of neuronal disease. Specifically, the paper verifies the anti-inflammatory effect of the regulating hormone, ghrelin, on nerve cells that are damaged in Parkinson's disease and furthermore identifies therapeutic targets for treatment and future protection of Parkinson’s disease.
