This was the first result showing the full 40 channel ROADM capability of a 10Gb/s system. This work was led by Prof Doran and was an extension of the simple point-to-point capability of the ultra long system in 4 below. This approach used a wavelength blocker and identified the capability of traversing many (12) ROADMs with minimal signal degradation.
