The paper describes the first laser device fabricated by direct femtosecond laser writing. The breakthrough result was reported in the magazine Photonic Spectra, 2/2005. The result was the key element to demonstrate success of an EU project to develop turn-key fs laser for industrialisation of this technique. High Q Laser Production GmbH, Austria, is now selling the fs laser system. Several groups worldwide are developing active device fabrication with this technique. |
