Abstract: This patent proposes a dynamic active and reactive power ‎sharing scheme based on the available generation capacity of ‎distributed generation units. It is shown that the dynamic ‎active power sharing significantly reduces the energy required ‎from a fossil-fueled auxiliary generator. The dynamic reactive ‎power sharing, besides reducing reactive power demand from ‎the auxiliary generator, reduces the stress on each distributed ‎generation’s converter through reducing the reactive power ‎contribution of the unit with higher active power contribution. ‎This all is achieved without any communication between ‎distributed generation units. The proposed method is ‎applicable on both inductive and resistive microgrids.
