Abstract: |
This patent proposes a dynamic active and reactive power sharing scheme based on the available generation capacity of distributed generation units. It is shown that the dynamic active power sharing significantly reduces the energy required from a fossil-fueled auxiliary generator. The dynamic reactive power sharing, besides reducing reactive power demand from the auxiliary generator, reduces the stress on each distributed generation’s converter through reducing the reactive power contribution of the unit with higher active power contribution. This all is achieved without any communication between distributed generation units. The proposed method is applicable on both inductive and resistive microgrids. |
