To encourage this growth in a future where difficult global economic conditions are likely to persist, it is essential that entrepreneurial activity is encouraged within the next generation of graduates. This study aims to explore the attitudes and motivations of Polish students towards an entrepreneurship education programme. To achieve the research objectives the methodological approach adopted for this study involved semi&#x2010;structured interviews undertaken with 122 Polish students. Each student undertook an interview within which they were asked to reflect on the impact of an entrepreneurship education programme on their entrepreneurial attitudes and motivations. This study builds on Jones et al., whose &#x201C;snapshot&#x201D; study found that Polish students had limited prior entrepreneurial experiences and expectations and welcomed the opportunity to undertake entrepreneurship education. The findings here confirmed the results of the prior study, but also provided greater insight regarding the reasons underpinning respondent behaviour. The data collected within this study are limited to the experience of Polish students. It is questionable whether the results are generalisable to different nationalities. Additional research must be undertaken to explore this further. The results have implications for the construction and delivery of entrepreneurship education to student groups. The study contributes to the extant knowledge in the context of the experience of enterprise education in a developing country. The paper will be of value to enterprise education providers in aiding the construction and delivery of such programmes.
<type>Journal Article</type><journal>Education + Training</journal><volume>53</volume><journalNumber>5</journalNumber><paginationStart>416</paginationStart><paginationEnd>432</paginationEnd><publisher>Emerald Publishing Ltd</publisher><issnPrint>0040-0912</issnPrint><keywords>Entrepreneurship, Education, Poland, Attitudes, Motivations, Students, Entrepreneurialism</keywords><publishedDay>10</publishedDay><publishedMonth>6</publishedMonth><publishedYear>2011</publishedYear><publishedDate>2011-06-10</publishedDate><doi>10.1108/00400911111147721</doi><url>https://www.emeraldinsight.com/doi/full/10.1108/00400911111147721</url><notes/><college>COLLEGE NANME</college><department>Business</department><CollegeCode>COLLEGE CODE</CollegeCode><DepartmentCode>BBU</DepartmentCode><institution>Swansea University</institution><apcterm/><lastEdited>2018-09-26T08:37:35.9119623</lastEdited><Created>2018-08-13T11:02:56.6823415</Created><path><level id="1">Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences</level><level id="2">School of Management - Business Management</level></path><authors><author><firstname>David</firstname><surname>Pickernell</surname><orcid>0000-0003-0912-095X</orcid><order>1</order></author><author><firstname>Paul</firstname><surname>Jones</surname><orcid>0000-0003-0417-9143</orcid><order>2</order></author><author><firstname>Christopher</firstname><surname>Miller</surname><order>3</order></author><author><firstname>Amanda</firstname><surname>Jones</surname><order>4</order></author><author><firstname>Gary</firstname><surname>Packham</surname><order>5</order></author><author><firstname>David</firstname><surname>Pickernell</surname><order>6</order></author><author><firstname>Przemyslaw</firstname><surname>Zbierowski</surname><order>7</order></author></authors><documents/><OutputDurs/></rfc1807>
