Item Description: |
The article describes a combined Finite Element - Discrete Element approach together with experimental validation for modelling static and dynamic friction in powder compaction. It presents a series of case studies in which mixtures and particle topography effects are explored and the numerical simulations are compare with a series of experimental data. Experimental trends are captured by the simulations and for the first time represent a systematic study in this field. |
