Abstract: With online learning at the forefront during the pandemic like never before, lecturers are seeking new and innovative ways of engaging students via online platforms. Using cartoon animation software, such as Powtoon, lecturers can create simple infographic animations for teaching at a marginal cost. However, to date there is little information regarding the effectiveness of such animations in engaging students and promoting learning. This session will present the findings of a research study examining the effect of cartoon animation on engagement and learning.
