The principle objectives of the project were to assess thefactors which influence the formation of entrepreneurial aspirations and to assess theextent to which students perceive that they are well-prepared to begin new businessventures and to which they perceive entrepreneurship to be a rewarding careerchoice.The report is based on a mix of quantitative and qualitative data, provided throughthe use of an internet-based survey instrument, supplemented by a fifteen in-depthinterviews with students in two Welsh universities, and informed by discussions witha three Wales Knowledge Exploitation Fund supported higher educationentrepreneurship development officers. The approach adopted in the report takes itslead from an assessment of the academic literature on the formation ofentrepreneurial intention, and is therefore multidisciplinary in approach.
