This chapter explores the use of surveys and experimentalstudies in environmental and sustainability education byreviewing examples published in international peer-reviewedpapers. The approaches will be critically analysed, with aview to providing advice on the development of scales used insurveys and the development and deployment and running asuccessful experimental study. The studies have been selectedto provide examples from the Global North and South, arange of participant ages and a range of participant numbers,giving a broad overview of research in these areas. The chapterfirst addresses surveys and scales as these are frequently incorporatedinto experimental studies. It then considers examplesof experiments such as randomised controlled trials (RCTs),including their purpose, demographic considerations and keyfindings. |
