Item Description: |
This paper arose from a PhD project funded by the Arab Academy of Science and Technology, in conjunction with my collaboration with Dr Lin at NUS, (Singapore). It reports the first use of a 'numerical wave flume', (ie. a numerical model simulating two-dimensional flow in a vertical plane), to investigate flooding due to overflow combined with wave action. The model was used to develop empirical discharge formulae; subsequently validated by laboratory experiments undertaken by the US Army Corps. The research led to further funding and participation in the THESEUS project, an EU FP7 Integrated Project (Contact Michael Schoupe) |
