Item Description: <p>An improved approach for modelling the fluid-structure interaction of heart valves is presented, introducing a contact model in order to represent the closure of the leaflets. Together with earlier publications on the development of heart valve models, it contributed to a successful 2-year Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship application on (tissue-engineered) heart valve modelling. This was held at Imperial College London (S. Sherwin, s.sherwin@imperial.ac.uk) .</p>
