Item Description:
A new method, combining a fictitious domain approach with mesh adaptivity, was introduced in order to model fluid-structure interaction in heart valves, with accurate flow information in the vicinity of the valve. The work was a first step towards heart valve modelling and led to an invitation for a contribution to a special issue on fluid-structure interaction in Comptes Rendus Mecanique, which has already been published.
